Institutional Profile & Legacy
Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC), established in 1995 by the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, is recognized as one of Eastern India’s premier technical institutions. Spread over an expansive 75-acre verdant campus in the planned educational city of Kalyani, Nadia district, the college provides an intellectually rigorous academic atmosphere that blends core engineering fundamentals with cutting-edge technological inquiry.
KGEC operates under the administrative authority of the Government of West Bengal, is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Admission to undergraduate (B.Tech) and postgraduate (M.Tech, MCA) programs is strictly merit-based, drawing the highest rank holders through WBJEE, JELET, JECA, and GATE examinations.
Houses the Department of Information Technology (IT), Department of Computer Applications (MCA), and the Central Library.
Houses the Departments of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Electronics & Communication (ECE), and Mechanical Engineering (ME).
Dedicated exclusively to the Department of Electrical Engineering (EE), featuring high-voltage machinery, power electronics, and smart grid testbeds.
Houses the Principal’s Directorate, Office of the Registrar, Academic Administration, Examination Section, and the Training & Placement Cell (TPO).
