A Legacy of Engineering & Innovation
Established in 1995 by the Government of West Bengal • Affiliated to MAKAUT & Approved by AICTE
Spread across an expansive 75-acre verdant campus in the planned township of Kalyani, Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) is widely recognized as one of the foremost government engineering institutions in Eastern India. The college offers top-tier undergraduate (B.Tech) and postgraduate (M.Tech, MCA) programs, admitting the top meritorious percentile via WBJEE, JELET, JECA, and GATE.
The campus is home to signature academic and administrative complexes: Meghnad Saha Bhavan (housing Information Technology, MCA, and the Central Library), Satyendra Nath Bose Bhavan (housing Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering), Jagadish Chandra Bose Bhavan (dedicated exclusively to Electrical Engineering), and the Main Administrative Building (housing the Principal's Directorate, Academic Administration, and Training & Placement Cell).
Mission
The mission of Kalyani Government Engineering College is to impart quality technical education to the students at the undergraduate and at the postgraduate levels of engineering with the aim to make them complete human beings possessing depth of knowledge not only in their own discipline but also in the kindred areas, which shall necessarily be accompanied by a wide mental horizon making them capable of sifting the grain from the chaff, the honesty from the chicanery, the truth from the untruth.
Vision
The vision of Kalyani Government Engineering College is to produce high quality, globally competitive technical manpower and to become a center of excellence in a few select areas of high-end technologies. It also envisages to act as an incubation cell for entrepreneurship activities in the region in association with the industry houses of the locality and outside. Keeping pace with the global technological developments through continuing education programmes is its another cherished ambition.
